Jimmy Rafferty
Jimmy Rafferty is a recently retired ex-computer programmer, ex-lettuce cutter, ex-factory process operator, ex-peat salesman, ex-glasshouse worker, ex-horticultural student, ex-hoer, ex-apple-peeler, ex-farmer, ex-almost-anything. He took up writing funny poems at the age of fifty-five-ish, and has won the prestigious ‘Bard of Armagh’ contest for humorous verse on no less than five occasions.
About Jimmy Rafferty
I was brought up on a small farm near Armagh in the 1950s, with plenty of spuds, and not a lot else. I have worked in England, Scotland, Wales, Lurgan and Belfast, in various jobs including agricultural worker, factory process operator, and computer programmer.
I have won the 'Bard of Armagh' contest for humorous Verse on 5 occasions, and published a book about my early life, and my poems.
